Arusha National Park

Just a half-hour’s drive from Arusha city, Arusha National Park boasts some of Tanzania’s most diverse landscapes, from grassy steppes to dense jungle and towering mountains. Dominated by Mount Meru, standing at 4,566 meters, and the Ngurdoto Crater, with its swampy floor teeming with wildlife, this park offers a unique blend of ecosystems. While it may not host the largest predators, Arusha National Park has an incredible variety of smaller animals and bird species, including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, and the rare black-and-white colobus monkey. The Momela Lakes in the northeastern section draw thousands of flamingos and over 400 other bird species, creating a paradise for bird watchers. Arusha National Park is ideal for a walking safari, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the park’s beauty.
